Kebabs hold a dear place in many of our hearts. They hold memories of big nights out dancing with friends. They’re a healthy alternative to takeaway, but just as delicious. Salman from EB Kebabs loves sharing Middle Eastern delicacies with the Ellenbrook community, and we were lucky enough to quiz him for his knowledge and learn a bit more about him.

When it comes to choosing what to eat from their extensive menu, Salman gave us some recommendations for the current season. “In summer, our warm salads are perfect. They’re made fresh and healthy. But kebabs are good for any season!”

Salman has been in Ellenbrook for 2 years now. He’s had quite the journey but loves where he has ended up. “I started in Austria, then Germany, then Italy, then Australia. I’ve got more than 13 years of experience. I love serving customers here — they are very friendly. I’m always giving them extras; I love to see the smile on their face — especially the mums that don’t need to cook and wash the dishes.”

Customers are always making Salman smile with their awesome feedback and sometimes interesting orders. He recalled a few that stood out to him.

“We had a family that popped in and had everything on the menu so that they could discover their favourite dish. The wife loved the warm salad, the husband enjoyed the meat and rice and the kids loved the meat box,” he said.

“We also have a customer whose wife always calls us and places an order. He then comes to collect the meals every week and says it means he has more time to spend with his family, eating delicious healthy food. And his wife is happy because it’s saving her time spent cooking.”

When he’s not busy serving up delicious Middle Eastern food, Salman can be found visiting Espresso Pump for their great coffee — he gets a flat white with an extra shot and one sugar every morning. Outside of the Centre, Salman enjoys playing soccer, going to the beach, bushwalking, spending time with friends and family and meeting with the Kurdish Community Group from Morley once a month.

Everything on the menu at EB Kebabs looks delectable. So, we had to ask, if Salman could only choose one thing to eat for the rest of his life, what would he pick? “I’d pick the meat box, because of the fresh and delicious taste. It’s meat and chips with garlic sauce and melted mozzarella.” We need to give that one a try!

So, the next time you have a hankering for a kebab — or even just a delicious Middle Eastern meal, head down to EB Kebabs and say hi to Salman. With their tasty, freshly cooked food, friendly staff and value for money, you can’t go wrong. Plus, you’ll be supporting a locally owned business. Happy eating!
